I’m glad you are visiting my site. You are always welcome here!
I’m an old man of 85 years who has been marketing on the Internet for some years.
I was born in Salt Lake City, dropped out of high school, went off to Korea to fight with the 17th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, worked for Douglas Aircraft on the F-4D Navy fighter, was accepted into the University of Utah, graduated in engineering in 1957, worked on industrial, electronic and nuclear ceramics in Colorado for Coors Porcelain Company (who owned the brewery), returned to the University of Utah in 1962 and received the Ph.D. in Ceramic Engineering and Metallurgy in 1965.
We moved to Pittsburgh in 1965. Our car broke down in Indianapolis where great mechanics are every where and they had to machine a special part so my Edsel would not break down again, worked on refractories for the steel industry, went off to Iowa State University for eight years teaching engineering and doing research and then left in 1974 to go back into industry so I could make enough money to educate my kids. I finally ended up at Lenox China in NJ as VP of R & D and I retired from there some 22 years ago. I worked at home for two years after that as Editor of an international trade magazine called Ceramic Industry.
We moved to Arizona and stayed there for five years, then moved to Idaho where we now live. So I guess we have been here for about eight years or so. I spend my time taking care of my wife who has ALZ, writing too much for the Internet, painting landscapes, and fishing with my Idaho grand kids. I wrote three engineering books and four novels back when but now I stick to the short stuff.
I hope you will enjoy selecting a gift for that special person.
John T. Jones, Ph.D.
